Continue on U.S. 124, Site 6 on left N. Brick house & red barn (Poor's Candy Kitchen).

6.  ORIGINAL WINTERQUARTERS - Ben Wallace purchased this farm in 1877.  In 1882 he acquired his first traveling menagerie show.  It is reported that on the inside walls of the red barn claw marks are still visible from the big cats that once were housed there.
